Integrate Opsgenie with Amazon SNS

Amazon SNS makes it simple and cost-effective to push notifications to Apple, Google, Fire OS, and Windows devices, as well as Android devices in China with Baidu Cloud Push.

What does Opsgenie offer Amazon SNS users?

Opsgenie provides both an incoming and outgoing integration for Amazon SNS. With the incoming integration, get notifications from SNS by subscribing to SNS topics. With the outgoing integration, send alert actions to SNS topics in order to notify topic subscribers.

Functionality of the integration

1. Incoming Amazon SNS Integration

Opsgenie acts as a dispatcher for Amazon SNS notifications, determines the right people to notify based on on-call schedules– notifies via email, text messages (SMS), phone calls and iOS & Android push notifications, and escalates alerts until the alert is acknowledged or closed.

2. Outgoing Amazon SNS Integration

When an alert is created, acknowledged or closed etc., Opsgenie sends messages to an SNS topic and SNS delivers these messages to the subscribers of that topic to notify them. The subscribers of a topic are chosen as one of the following options: Sending email or SMS, invoking AWS Lambda function, or sending an HTTP request.
